Zippy French Fries - These zesty fries are fresh off the BBQ, made with sweet potatoes, subtle Indian spices, and are the perfect partner for any grilled meat! Oven baked first, to ensure tenderness, they can be grilled in under 10 minutes, and really reach out to “tickle your tastebuds”

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 6-8 mins
Servings: 4
Main Ingredient: Sweet Potatoes
Difficulty Level: 1

Ingredients to make Zippy French Fries

2 (8-ounce) garnet yams or sweet potatoes, halved lengthwise, cut into 3/4-inch-wide wedges
2 tablespoon(s) ghee or unslated butter, melted
1 teaspoon(s) garam masala
1/4 teaspoon(s) coarse sea salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) freshly ground black pepper
Olive oil for brushing

Directions to make Zippy French Fries

Step 1:Place yam wedges skin side down on a large microwave-safe plate; cover with vented plastic wrap. Microwave on high 3 1/2 to 4 minutes, or until almost tender; let cool.
Step 2:Heat an outdoor gas grill, or prepare coals for a charcoal grill for direct grilling over medium-high heat
Step 3:Mix ghee, garam masala, salt, and pepper in a large bowl; add yam wedges and gently toss to coat. Grill yams (keeping the grill lid closed as much as possible) turning yam wedges as they brown, 6-8 minutes.
